Pre-installation
help and guidance
Step1.
Measure and cut the Rattan Cane webbing to the correct size leaving enough overhang on each side to allow for securing.
Step 2.
Prepare the Rattan cane webbing by soaking in warm water for approx. 30 minutes or until supple. The recommended way to do this is to roll the webbing and soak in a bathtub, another option is to use a piece of PVC tubing with secure caps on each end
Step 3.
After soaking unroll and lay flat, gently pat dry most of the moisture with a dry towel or cloth
Step 4.
Lay flat across the area you intend to install on, ensure the weave pattern is lined up correctly with the wooden frame.
Step 5.
Starting in one corner begin stapling the rattan in place with a few staples up and across. Before stapling the next corner apply tension by stretching slightly (this is why you need to soak it in advance).
Step 6.
Continue stapling and slightly stretching as you go round until you are comfortable the rattan is secured in place. REMINDER: While stapling each section ensure the pattern/holes line up with the frame.
Step 7.
Once you are happy with the alignment secure additional staples all the way around ensuring all areas are secure and flat.
Finish
Allow the rattan to fully dry naturally. Once all the remaining moisture is dried it will be firm with no sagging in the middle.
